The SD400 is Canon’s smallest five megapixel yet. It touts the same processor as found in Canon’s pro digital SLRs and a two inch LCD with QuickBright function for viewing in bright conditions. The new Hold function sounds nice as well, allowing you to preview and delete just-shot images without switching over to playback mode. All this wrapped up in a body almost smaller than a cigarette pack. Until then, you can drop expect to drop $520 for their latest in picture-taking metal bricks.
Then there’s the sleek SD500, featuring Canon’s new “perpetual curve” design, which Canon hopes will “push camera design into new territories.” Gone is the time of rectangles. Behold! The era of slightly curved rectangles. But with a 7-megapixel sensor, a new mode dial design and two inch LCD, who cares? Look for it next month with a $650 price tag.
