Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina just announced that she’s running for president, gunning for the GOP presidential bid along with Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, and Ted Cruz. But it looks like she forgot to register her domain names before jumping into the political arena. Whoops.
Somebody has already grabbed CarlyFiorina.org, and it’s definitely not her PAC.
“Carly Fiorina failed to register this domain,” the website reads. “So I’m using it to tell you how many people she laid off at Hewlett-Packard.” Then there are 30,000 sad face emoticons.
Domain trolling is already a recurring theme for GOP candidates. Earlier this spring, Ted Cruz learned the hazards of failing to register your name when someone used TedCruz.com to offer their continued support of President Obama.
It’s pretty surprising that a supposedly tech-savvy nominee like Fiorina failed to cover her bases here, especially since she’s basing much of her cred on breaking glass ceilings and allowing the shards to fly into the eyes of her detractors at HP.
