It’s hardly the most attractive watch I’ve ever seen, but it has one quality that is sadly rare to find in modern watches: nixie tubes. The Cathode Corner Nixie Watch is a two-digit prototype that shows hours, minutes, and seconds as you flick your wrist. There won’t be a big production run, but David Forbes expects to have a couple dozen watches constructed by April, for an unknown price. Futurey!
Why hasn’t someone developed a tiny nixie tube yet that can be more easily used in watches and the like? Is there just no market for it? (Thanks, numlok!)
