China is strutting its stuff and showing off the latest addition to it military — an old Soviet-era aircraft carrier. The Admiral Kuznetsov-class Varyag is one of two ships that were built in the early 80s.
China bought the unfinished carrier from the Ukraine and initially claimed the boat was going to be an offshore casino. Yeah, right.
Thirteen years later and the carrier is now confirmed to be a military ship. Though China was quiet on the subject, the world knew this was coming. Photos from late last year reveal the ship was being outfitted with sensors, guns and missiles. [UPI]
