The Cinema Disk is a clunky looking portable hard drive with an S-Video out and no color screen, making it supremely useful for at least six or seven people. It might be the only portable media player in existence with a built-in fan, although I can forgive them for that if only because their company name is ‘Deltron.’ It’s not that it’s bad at what it does—the reviewer seems quite fond of it, as well as his ginormous TV—but that what it does is, for most people, better performed by PVRs or portable media players with, you know, a screen. Yet the most charming thing in this review is the opening sentence stating he “waited the arrival of the Cinema Disk with … an open mind.” Ah, youth. Soon he will learn how to harness his boiling biases and irrational hatreds that are the mark of any seasoned product reviewer.
