We’ve certainly bitched about this long enough, but how come someone can’t build a hard-drive based MP3 player that’s smaller and lighter than the iPod (they already know how to make one that’s cheaper)? Is it somehow impossible for all the engineers in the world to figure this out? At least Creative’s new 30GB Nomad Jukebox Zen NX gets a bit closer. The Jukebox Zen NX is thinner than the regular Jukebox Zen, and costs about 40% less than the same capacity iPod, uses USB 2.0 for file-transfer, and has a longer battery life than the iPod (they claim).
