July 1st marks the start of the Gromit Unleashed charity art exhibition in Bristol. Eighty statues of Wallace & Gromit’s beloved stop-motion pooch are appearing all over the city, each custom designed by a different artist.

For ten weeks, the Gromit statues will be on public display, letting passersby delight in each take on Nick Park’s creation. At the end of the exhibition, the statues will be auctioned off, with the proceeds benefiting the Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children’s Hospital Charity. And Gromit doesn’t even have to endure any of Wallace’s crazy contraptions to do it—just stand there in a coat of paint getting pets from the public.

Several schools painted their own Gromit statues; you can check out their designs on Flickr.
