In just two years, Dan Da Dan wound up the big new shonen sensation, thanks to its…well, everything, from the cast to its animation and very central romance. Good news, then, that we already know it’s coming back for a third season on Netflix and Crunchyroll, which got a tiny little tease at the anime’s Jump Festa panel in the form of colorful key art.

Last season ended with the gang reluctantly adding big mecha head Kinta Sakata to their ranks after they’d finally calmed down the Evil Eye possessing Jiji. After the group defeated a space kaiju, they took it to Momo’s house and discovered it held an alien girl, who announced herself by smooching Okarun. It was so devastating for Momo that she blew up her home. (And possibly Aira, RIP.)

So season three will be partially about everyone figuring out what to do (and how they feel) about the alien girl, which the art itself reflects: where Okarun and Turbo Granny look up in awe, Momo’s more distrustful, and the girl herself is back in her suit. Whatever reason she came to Earth, it’ll likely lead to more trouble for the gang, either from other aliens or another supernatural entity or two.

Unfortunately, we won’t be getting more Dan Da Dan until sometime in 2027. But at least we know it’s coming, and have plenty of time to read the chapters the next season may cover.
