Dell has announced that they’ll be offering an upgrade for Axim X50-family PDAs to Windows Mobile 5.0 (aka ‘Magneto’) once the software ships in third quarter. It won’t be free, of course, but will be available to purchase. I don’t know how upgradeable Windows Mobile PDAs will be to Magneto in general, but it’s smart of Dell to make it clear that there’s no reason to wait to buy an Axim X50.
