This cross between a speedboat and what could be Paul LeMat's '32 Ford Coupe is called the Front Runner. In theory, this water speed demon designed by Joey Ruiter is made of aluminum and is powered by twin 225hp motors in the front. Don't know how that will work out, but who cares? Being a concept, it's just cool for the sake of it. There's no more details available, so I have made up my own specs to post them with the extra picture of the front after the jump.

stronzo: right on the nose. This sled will probably ride the prop wash much like a knee-board on a short rope rides a hull-wake behind a conventional speed boat.

But: I think steering could be a major problem. With no deep v hull the thing will likely whip around like mad during even medium radius turning. The design might be fantastic for drag boating as front end lift is probably self managing, but this is looking like a jet boat and most of what I've seen (all, actually) from drag boats is straight long props. I believe you lose a lot of power with water jets.

otoh: Power to weight could counter that.
