Not sure how well something like this is going to go over, since there are plenty of guitar players who look down on people who use transistors in their amps rather than vacuum tubes, but music equipment maker Gibson is building guitars, amps, and speakers that all have built-in Ethernet ports and can be networked together. With the technology, which they’re calling Magic, you’ll be able to apply digital effects directly to each individual string on your guitar, and plug your guitar directly into your PC.
