Canon, Fujifilm, HP, Olympus, Seiko Epson, and Sony are collaborating to develop a new industry standard that would allow digital cameras to bypass computers altogether and connect directly to printers for printing photos. Right now each manufacturer has its own direct printing system, so you can only connect your camera directly to your printer if they are both the same brand.
