Neil Marshall, the director that pulled off the most insane episode of Game Of Thrones, “Blackwater,” and the best horror movie ever made, The Descent, will direct the pilot of the Constantine TV series. Could this show actually be good?

Deadline is reporting that Marshall has signed on to direct the pilot episode of this DC Comics adaptation for NBC. The comic was previously adapted into a film starring Keanu Reeves, and we have been asking for a Constantine/Hellblazer series forever. This comic is ripe for the serial treatment. It’s loaded with goodies. Set in the present day, the comic follows John Constantine, a supernatural detective/con man-type guy who battles all sorts of what-the-fuckery. David Goyer is executive producer, and he worked on the screenplay with Daniel Cerone (The Mentalist, Dexter). All signs are pointing to good!

And maybe working on Constantine will delay Marshall’s other project: remaking Troll Hunter, which we have very mixed feelings about.
