DirectPop Email To SPOT Watches

JOEL JOHNSON

Reading time 1 minute

DirectPop is a POP3-to-MSN Messenger gateway for shooting short messages to those Microsoft SPOT watches, via email instead of an actual Messenger client. DirectPop uses a keyword validation to prevent just anyone from using it as an open spam relay into your watch. It also has the notable distinction of being the first public release of third-party software for the MSN Direct platform (or so they say—I can think of at least a couple other homebrew projects). It also happens to be donationware, and if you can afford to buy a watch that can receive email, you can afford to give him a dollar.
