Summer 2028 sounds like a long time away, but movie studios—most of whom have already planted their flags on important release dates—are now starting to reveal what titles we’ll be seeing during prime blockbuster season. Disney just revealed two very anticipated titles, starting with the sequel to last year’s hit live-action adaptation Lilo & Stitch.

The first Lilo & Stitch followed the same broad strokes as the 2002 animated film, but presumably there will be a new story for Lilo & Stitch 2 that doesn’t resemble the original’s straight-to-video animated sequel. We can guess Nani will be back in Hawaii after attending college in San Diego—and we can be certain that Lilo and her alien bestie will get wrapped up in some kind of wacky trouble. Also, more Elvis songs.
Next, Pixar shared that The Incredibles 3 will follow Lilo & Stitch 2 to theaters a few weeks later.

Pixar found massive success by releasing another big sequel, 2024’s Inside Out 2, in mid-June; this year, it has Toy Story 5 in the same window. So Incredibles 3, which will be the first big-screen outing for the super-family since 2018, is perfectly positioned. Brad Bird, who wrote and directed the first two films, returns to write the script, with Peter Sohn (Elemental) directing this time around.
Disney hasn’t shared any more 2028 titles, but it has dibs on several key dates flanking Lilo & Stitch 2 on May 26 and Incredibles 3 on June 16. According to the Numbers, there’s an untitled Marvel movie coming May 5 and untitled Disney films slated for July 17 and August 11.
