Surface-conduction Electron-emitter Display (SED), Inc. a joint venture between Canon and Toshiba, has created a flat display with a 100,000:1 contrast ratio. Why is that good? Well, let me tell you.

Contrast ratio, the difference between the whitest white and blackest black, makes things pop off of your screen. Now Keanu’s pasty flesh will shine like a beacon of electronic truth against his black, black vinyl trenchcoat. If you’re into that sort of thing, of course.
