Dopod 585 MP3 Phone

There isn’t much to say about the Dopod 585 yet, but here’s what we got. It’s a smooth-looking candybar smartphone running Windows Mobile ’03. The iPod-like buttons (to match its iPod-like design) offer easy control over “multimedia functions.” MP3 capability has been confirmed, but I don’t think if anybody would mind if you assumed video playback as well. Shots of the menu screen show Bluetooth and video recording for the 1.3 megapixel camera, but there’s no flash. No mention of price yet, but the 585 will be available first in Taiwan with eventual rebranding by T-Mobile and a few others for sale world-wide.

Update: And when we say ‘eventual rebranding,’ we mean, ‘as recently as September of last year.’ This is also the phone known as the ‘T-Mobile SDA.’
