Sanyo’s figured out a way to double the storage capacity of a regular CD-R from 700MB to 1.4GB. They’re calling it “HD-BURN”, and the resulting discs can be only read by regular DVD players with a small software modification. Sounds a little complicated, but it seems like a good stop-gap measure until recordable DVD discs and drives drop more in price.
