The Circuits section of the New York Times is usually chock-full of great gadgets news, and this week’s edition is no exception. David Pogue plays with Microsoft’s SmartDisplay, those portable, wireless monitors that are like dumbed down Tablet PCs, and discovers its many, considerable shortcomings. How long until Microsoft put this ill-fated venture out of its misery? Sadly, probably never.
