There are no huge revelations to make when inspecting these early Wiimote schematics dug up in patent apps, but they do offer an interesting look at the future (err...present) that could have been.


The biggest difference you can spot is the D-Pad. One version had an analog stick instead (what's found in the nunchuk) and one version had a very strange 5-button layout instead of the traditional + design. I'd have liked that analog stick... [Siliconera via Kotaku]
