TrustedReviews has the first benchmarks that I’ve seen from ATI’s new X800 3D cards, and if nothing else, they show that this next generation of hardware is going to make some gorgeous graphics (like that real-time image to the right), even as the war between Nvidia and ATI gets uglier. The best thing about the Radeon X800s? By using a “low-k dielectric” process, ATI has managed to keep the heat output to a minimum, meaning the new cards are single-slot solutions (and suitable for Small Form Factor PCs), unlike Nvidia’s two-and-a-half-slot beasts.
