Redmond Pie reports that the iPhone Dev-Team has updated its Redsn0w jailbreak tool. It now allows users to jailbreak their iOS 5.1 device—but it does require it to be connected to a computer to boot. It works for all iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices—except iPhone 4S and iPad 2.

If you're desperate to give it a try, there's a full tutorial over at Redmond Pie (it can be done onWindows or Mac). You'll have to wait longer to get an untethered jailbreak, though. [Redmond Pie; Thanks Anum!]

So how do I, with an iPhone 4 5.0.1 jailbreak, update to this new one? Do I have to update it properly through iTunes and lose Cydia and all of my jailbreak things before re-jailbreaking?
