No longer satisfied with murdering the characters in his beloved A Song of Ice and Fire books, George R.R. Martin has now set his sights on murdering a Facebook employee named David Goldblatt after he donated $20,000 to the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary to be killed off in an upcoming GRRM novel.

Goldblatt, a product specialist living in San Francisco, also got to choose his doomed character, and picked a Valyrian. Seeing as Valyria faced some kind of unknown “Doom” several centuries ago, and that “David Goldblatt” seems kind of conspicuous next to names like Robb Stark, Tywin Lannister, Sandor Clegane, Wyman Manderly and rest, I have no idea how GRRM will work this.

Still, it’s all for a good cause. Thanks to Martin’s help, the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary has raised nearly $400,000 to rescue neglected wolves, whose life in captivity makes them unable to return to the wild. You’re still welcome to donate here.
