It’s easy enough to get lost in a book, but what about getting lost in meters and meters of books? As part of the London 2012 Festival, two Brazilian artists are setting up a giant maze made entirely out of books.

Marcos Saboya and Gualter Pupo are creating this installation, which can be found inside London’s Southbank Centre from July 31-August 26. Titled “aMAZEme,” the labyrinth is in the shape of one of the artists’ fingerprints, and consists of thousands of books stacked 2.5 meters high for 500 square meters of total interior space. The construction of the maze and the visitors’ participation will be filmed for general consumption, though I fear some of that footage might involve the occasional stack of books tumbling over.
