Motherboard manufacturer Gigabyte has announced that their mobile phone spin-off, Gigabyte Communications, will launch their first phones sometime this summer. Initially looking to break into the Taiwanese market, their first phones will take advantage of the 3G networks there. The cellular phone market, if not already patently obvious to you, is incredibly saturated, so Gigabyte better have some tricks up their sleeves if they want to make any sort of dent. (I, for one, would not mind a cell phone that also butters bread.) We’ll see what they have in store for us in a couple of months, either way.
