Although it’s not really a new gadget, per se, the latest version of the GiveMePower Windows Mobile drafting software can receive data from Bluetooth laser range finders. This allows an on-site technician to take measurements of buildings that can be saved in an AutoCAD format and emailed to a customer or office. The whole thing makes for easy site surveys and what not, and is for the mobile construction worker, or the peevishly square-footage obsessed in-law.
