Gizmodo Hiring an NYC Intern

By

Reading time 1 minute

We’re hiring a New York City based intern.

Must have gadget journalism aspirations. The work is extremely fun, but includes some occasional grunt work. Hours are somewhat flexible but must be around working hours. Pay is close to nothing. You’re doing it for the love…and hairline chance to graduate to writer status after a tour of duty.

Posting this reminds me of my first internship in publishing, at Maximum PC magazine. It was generally unpaid, and I was expected to work 10-15 hours a week, but ended up doing 50 a week to gather clips and experience and soak up knowledge from my mentors. Some might say I was working for pennies, but I saw it as a great deal from my end of things. I’m looking to hire someone with the same mentality, in NY.

Email [email protected] with “NYC Intern” in the subject line, along with a letter telling us why you’re right for the job, along with a list of your favorite gadgets of all time, and a sample post. (No attachments please.) Applications incorrectly filed walk the plank to the trash can.
