Gizmodo is looking for a writer with a passion for covering the latest developments in tech, tech policy, internet culture, and oligarchy. As a reporter at Gizmodo, you’ll track the news and turn around multiple short pieces per day, as well as long-form stories that require more time. The ideal candidate should have a strong writing voice, a healthy sense of humor, a familiarity with Silicon Valley and politics, and a demonstrated background in news writing.
What You’ll Do
- Cover the news on your beat daily
- Pitch original stories that help us understand the technology landscape and the people behind it
Who You Are
- You are a fast, clear, and accurate writer who is familiar with journalistic best practices
- You have a particular niche interest that doesn’t get enough coverage in the tech press
- You don’t mince words and have a command of tone
- You love working in a fast-moving, collaborative environment with a committed team
- You are comfortable juggling long-term assignments along with quick hits
- You are creative and always looking for a way to frame a story that goes against the grain
This is a position covered under the collective bargaining agreement with the WGA-E. The salary range for this position is $66,000 – $70,000.
