GMO Square Trees Are Ready to Become Lumber

If we can make square tomatoes, why not square trees that are ready to chop into lumber? That’s why the concept designers at Draw Me a Sheep have created this “square tree” sculpture – to suggest a way that lumber companies could, you know, stop wasting all those curvy parts they cut off trees.

Or maybe trees could be grown in chair shapes so they’d be the biological equivalent of “plug and play”? There’s another good idea.

All of these tree sculptures are carefully covered in real bark, and are part of a series that Draw Me a Sheep is doing called “Nature V2.01.” The best part about these sculptures is that you get the feeling the artists are only partly joking.
