Google’s joining Runway and OpenAI trying to push AI video, and it has none other than Childish Gambino himself, Donald Glover, setting the tone. “Everybody’s going to become a director, and everybody should be a director,” Glover proclaimed. The tool is called Veo, and like Google’s other generative AI, it’s housed under a new VideoFX label. It uses simple text prompts to generate clips, and users can keep extending the clip longer with the push of a button. The Mountain View-based tech giant showed off a video of a car racing along a highway with some rather off-looking lanes.
