Google Promises More App Fraud Detection
The Play Store is already supposed to keep an eye out for bad apps that deal in fraud or phishing, but that doesn’t mean malicious software doesn’t (all too often) slip through. Google now says the Google Play Protect will use the on-device AI to try to find apps that may be committing fraud or phishing. This sends the app back to Google for additional review, and it then warns users about using the app.
