Android Auto Will Let You Google Cast to Some Cars

Google will offer you more chances to see your content on a (slightly) bigger screen when you’re parked in your car. The company is adding Google Cast compatibility with some cars, starting first with new Rivian models. Now, you can stream video content directly from your phone or tablet to the vehicle.
Google also wants more app developers to optimize their products so it’s far easier to use them while parked. This “Car ready mobile apps program” is supposed to entice more app makers to make their applications available on large screens and enable them when a car is parked. The point is to have apps that work “just as they would on any large-screen Android device.” Google said it was reviewing which apps already meet the criteria, then opting them in for distribution on cars with Google built-in.
