The world’s most famous whistle blower could have turned to retail, if Google Maps it to be believed. Look up the White House using the service and you’ll find a store positioned right at the front of the building called “Edwards Snow Den.”
The appearance of the store is actually more easily explained than you may think—and nothing to do with Edward Snowden, sadly. Google has explained to Marketing Land that its appearance is due to a hack, in which someone’s tweaked the location of a real snowboarding shop called Edwards Snow Den. The listing for the actual shop—at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in the same city—is also still live, suggesting that Google is likely about to delete the White House listing. Though it hasn’t done just yet. [Google Maps via Marketing Land via The Verge]
