If you used Google to search for the word “Vatican” this weekend, you probably were surprised that the first result was not “vatican.va” but a pedophile site called “pedofilo.com.” Well, maybe you weren’t that surprised, unlike Google.
Google Italy spokeswoman Simona Panseri says that they don’t really know what happened:
I cannot confirm if it is an attack because I have not had any more precise information from the US engineers to understand the nature of the problem.
The glitch was fixed shorty after it was discovered. [AFP]
