The long-rumoured Android tablet supposedly being made for Google by Asus as we speak has been discovered in some tech benchmark results, revealing the 7″ Nexus tablet to be running on Nvidia's Tegra 3 chipset.
The benchmarks reveal a 7″ Android tablet running at 768×1280 resolution, with the software onboard described as being based around version 4.1 of Google's code. The use of the letter J to describe the software's build number would also seem to confirm this could be Google's next big "Jelly Bean" release of Android, which would be a great selling point, at least for Android nerds, should the company release a key Android update on the new Nexus tablet.
Given that Nexus devices traditionally arrive running an all-new version of Android, that's a very believable scenario. And if those specs are true, and Google can indeed manage to get it on the market for an affordable price, Android might finally have the mainstream tablet winner it's been searching for.
