Griffin has added an XLR-to-miniJack version to it’s “GarageBand Cables” lineup. I’m sort of torn on these products (the other one is an 1/8th-inch-to-miniJack cord designed for guitars), as they don’t do anything you couldn’t do with just a regular audio cable and a converter plug, but they are white, and that has to count for something, right? I haven’t seen anybody do any testing of their cords, but if they are as high-quality as I’d expect them to be, $25 isn’t out of spec for professional-grade audio cables. And actually, the more I think about it, these compliment GarageBand pretty well; most people that are going to use that program are just noodlers (I include myself in there) and probably don’t have a need for multi-purpose cords.
Oh, and what’s XLR? It’s the three-pin connector that most professional microphones use.
