Looks like the major networks are ready to get back into the comic book business. Marvel just announced a whole slew of characters they're cooking up TV shows for, including the Incredible Hulk, possibly with a Guillermo del Toro twist!
THR is reporting that ABC and Marvel are teaming up to make their Hulk television show a top priority. And this series has some interesting backers...
Hulk has a "showrunner wanted" placard around its neck, and sources are saying that Guillermo del Toro and Battlestar Galactica producer David Eick will be pitching a take. ABC had no comment.
A GDT pitch? That sounds amazing. There's no telling if ABC will pick up his vision for the Hulk, but they'd be fools not to with the weight his name carries.
That's not all, though - they have a whole list of Marvel comic properties they're hoping to adapt for the television. The second biggest priority behind the Hulk is Cloak and Dagger, which Marvel and ABC want for ABC Family.
And it's not stopping with those two shows, here's a list of potential projects both teams are toying around with, see anything you like?
"Heroes for Hire" (focusing on ex-con Luke Cage offering to take on bad guys for a price);
"The Eternals" (a race of superpowered beings live amid humanity in secret, inspiring legends);
"Agents of Atlas, Alter Ego" (private investigator Jessica Jones takes on cases involving superhumans);
"Moon Knight, the Red Hood" (a low-rent criminal discovers a cloak that gives him superpowers);
"Ka-Zar" (a Tarzan-type and his saber-toothed tiger must journey to the concrete jungle to seek justice);
"Daughters of the Dragon" (a dynamic female duo, one with a bionic arm and the other a granddaughter of a samurai, open a private-detective agency); and original hulk
"The Punisher" (one man wages a war on crime; already adapted as two feature films).
