We have word this afternoon that the Netflix iPad app is “running” on an iPhone. Why the quotes? Well, as you’ll see, the whole affair is a bit rough around the edges.
Getting the app installed and ready to roll on a jailbroken iPhone turns out to be pretty easy, reports BGR:
[A[ll you really need to do is extract and make minor changes to the Netflix .app file, borrow the iPad’s MediaPlayer.framework folder, change a few permissions and you’re pretty much good to go.
But! Battery life sucks with this installed, it takes forever to load and buffer, and, oh yes, it’s terribly prone to crashing if you get too touchy-feely with your video catalog (read: flip through too quickly). Sounds fun! [Modmyi via BGR]
