U.S. Prosecutors have filed criminal charges against Daniel Spitler and Andrew Auernheimer, the two Goatse Security members who exposed a serious security flaw in AT&T’s iPad subscriber database last summer. Serves them right, I guess?

As is often the case with these sorts of things, for better or worse, the two individuals who discovered and exploited the flaw—one which exposed over a hundred thousand email addresses of AT&T subscribers, including politicians, business people, and celebrities—have been arrested, each charged with one count of fraud and one count of conspiracy to access a computer without authorization. The FBI will hold a press conference this afternoon to discuss the charges. [Reuters]
