All serious Star Wars fans know the work of Tibor Helényi. The Hungarian painter, who sadly passed away last year, created some of the most-hated and beloved posters for the original Star Wars trilogy. And now, more than one year after his death, the original oil paintings are going to be auctioned off on May 31 by Budapest Poster Gallery.

The online auction will feature 52 selected lots from the artist’s estate. Beside the Star Wars paintings never before seen by the public, you can bid on another legendary weird Helényi artwork painted for the Hungarian movie poster of Alien, and several other scifi movie posters such as Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Highlander, and Saturn 3.
