Hiro Nakamura Returns, In An Actually-Not-Bad Heroes Reborn Trailer

The first Heroes Reborn trailer didn’t inspire confidence. “Pretentious,” is what we called it. But this second one has what the first was lacking: Actual heroes, including everyone’s favorite time-traveller Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oki).

Heroes Reborn, the miniseries follow-up to NBC’s hit 2006 show Heroes, starts on September 24. Several of the original characters and actors are back (Oki, of course, but also Jack Coleman as HRG, Sendhil Ramamurthy as Mohinder, Greg Grunberg as Parkman and more) in addition to several new characters, including one played by Chuck star Zachary Levi.

It’s a contained, 13-episode series that takes place about a decade after the original series (which is set in a world where regular humans realize some of them have superhuman abilities, in case you were wondering. Kind of like X-Men for TV.) And while I wasn’t particularly looking forward to Heroes Reborn after the series’ epic and well-documented nosedive, this trailer has turned the tide ever so slightly. I love seeing the old characters, new powers, and the post apocalyptic tone of that first teaser has more weight when you see actual humans in it.
