Lots of robots are showing up for the World Exposition in Japan's Aichi prefecture later this month, including these two bots from Hitachi that look a bit like Segways. Dubbed 'Pal and Chum,' for their ability to both lure and befriend sharks, the 150-pound robots are reported to have reaction times as low a 1/10th of a second.
We spoke of the duo last week as walking assistants, but apparently that's not the case. In fact, if you were to use them to stop yourself from falling, they'd probably go right over. Plus, it took me a week to think of that shark gag.
