Obesity has hit the United States hard in recent years—but how do American waistlines compare to those around the world? This map, put together from recent obesity data obtained by the CIA, shows that the U.S. is not alone.

The map, put together by Clinic Compare, shows that the percentage of the population that is clinically obese. Sure, a third of Americans are obese, as are a quarter of Britons. But there are some surprises on the map too: 33 percent of Saudi Arabians, 32 percent of Mexicans and 30 percent of Argentinians and are dangerously overweight, for instance. And that’s before you even think about the pacific islands, where well over half the population is clinically obese.
