HP Slate 500's Leaked Specs Confirmed On HP's Own Site

Several of the HP Slate 500's leaked specs have been confirmed today, including that it will run Windows 7 Premium, sports an 8.9-inch touch screen, has a 1.6 GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM, and that it has two cameras—video and still. New: it's Energy Star certified. Still unconfirmed: whether it's capacitive touch, what the graphics card is, and how it scores on battery life. [HP and Energy Star via Ubergizmo]

Anti-Star Super-Christ

Windows 7 Premium runs perfect on a machine with 1gb RAM as long as you turn off Aero. I know because I have an older netbook running it and it runs better than the XP it came with did.

Now I did make one slight adjustment. I have a 2gb OCZ SD card in it being used for boost. Perhaps they will deploy something internally that is similar?

Either way, people calling fail because it has 1gb of RAM and Windows 7 don't know what the hell they're talking about.

Also, people calling it a netbook without a keyboard...please see iPad....except it wishes it was a netbook without a keyboard, instead it's just a big phone....that doesn't make phone calls.
