What is this queer tenor? Is it the sound of Hewlett-Packard doing something…interesting? First we hear word of their just-announced ‘National Photo Album,’ a free gallery of user-submitted images that catalog the visual history of the UK (although no word yet on who retains the copyright of the photos). Then, as I was reeling from the shock that HP was doing more than selling cameras with Cure songs, I discover they have a vibrant, active community built around the use of computer printers in quilting. My grandmother is spinning in her grave and she’s not even dead.
