Not particularly insightful article in Reuters about the future of PC design that does have one juicy tidbit of information towards the end – that HP is planning a new device called the Scout that falls somewhere between an ultralight laptop and a PDA:
About the size of an old-fashioned day planner, the flat-panel screen tilts up and has a retractable keyboard. In discussions with customers, Landry says people often say about HP’s popular iPaq that they wish it had a larger keyboard or a larger display.
Of course there’s no word in the piece about when the Scout might see the light of day. Anyone else heard anything about it?
