Hulu has been investing more and more in producing its own original series as well as securing exclusive rights to other shows—it's how the service plans to survive in the face of competition from Netflix and the cable companies. Here's a look at what's in store for you on Hulu this summer.

The trailer below offers our first look at Hulu's full slate of originals and exclusives. Hulu's also showing us previews for its exclusive content premiering next week, which look to be an entertaining mix of domestic and UK comedies. What we haven't seen yet are previews for Hulu's new original series, which include a variety show produced by Kevin Smith, and Up To Speed, a travel show by director Richard Linklater. Hulu told us that we don't have a preview for Kevin Smith's series because it will be shot on Fridays directly before the show airs—the first episode will debut June 4th. We don't have a preview for Linklater's show because it is still in production and will premiere in August.
