The trailer for the new Will Smith vehicle I, Robot — based very loosely on the work of Isaac Asimov — has hit the web, via Apple’s Quicktime-only site. The robots’ facial movement design is intriguing; I can’t say if I like it yet or not. Also disturbing is the amount of action and violence in the trailer, as I was hoping for more of a detective story, a la Blade Runner. No word if Will Smith will be recording a rap song detailing the Three Laws of Robotics, and to what degree robots should be afraid of him, but I really, really hope it happens.
