If Andromeda came back, what would you do differently?

Suppose someone tried to relaunch Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda. What would you change? Who would you cast? That's the question former Andromeda writer Zack Stentz posed in a forum, and former showrunner Robert Hewitt Wolfe chimed in with some suggestions.

Over at the Ex Isle forum, Stentz posted:

A hypothetical situation. The SyFy Channel buys the rights to Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda and decides to reboot the series, working from Robert's basic premise, universe, and list of characters, but updating it for 2012. Who do you cast in the major roles? What changes to you make to the universe? Imagine you're a TV producer. Knock yourselves out. I'll hold my tongue until some other people get the ball rolling— I don't want to prejudice things.

The discussion pretty quickly broadened to include the idea of an Andromeda movie or a new TV series, and casting suggestions included Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Dylan Hunt — although Wolfe prefers Liev Schreiber. I have to admit the idea of putting Brian Austin Green in this thing is enough to get me excited. Not to mention BAG and Alison Scagliotti together.

Who would you cast in an Andromeda revamp? And what would you do differently?
