What new series are hitting comic shops tomorrow? Mike Mignola also pens a new story about the vampire hunter Baltimore, Dr. Leskovar's Remedy. ("An army of malformed vampires controls a small Croatian town, but Lord Henry Baltimore arrives to put an end to this madness, fighting his way to their creator-a twisted surgeon akin to Moreau and Mengele!")
The third Before Watchmen miniseries hits stands to boot, with Brian Azzarello and J.G. Jones' take on The Comedian.
What else is in the grab bag? There are new issues of Chew, Catwoman (preview here), Star Wars: Dawn Of The Jedi - Force Storm, Unwritten, Fables, Batwoman, Adventure Time, Daredevil, Punisher, Saga, Dark Horse Presents, Walking Dead, Avengers Vs. X-Men, and Casanova: Avaritia.
There's also Astonishing X-Men, which showcases the wedding of former Alpha Flight member/professional snoot Northstar to his boyfriend. Man, I remember picking up the Jean Grey/Cyclops wedding issue years ago. Gambit attacked the guests for the privilege of slipping the garter on Rogue (who used her powers to catch the bouquet). Oh, 1990s — even the weddings were edgy!
Hopefully these nuptials will bring similar antics, like The Living Monolith teaming up with Trevor Fitzroy, Ahab, and a bunch of other ridiculous old-school X-Men villains to steal the guests' Jordan almonds or something.
As far as bookshelf fare goes, there are the first volumes of Dark Horse Comics' Angel and Faith, DC Comics' Frankenstein, Agent Of S.H.A.D.E., and Marvel's The Incredible Hulk.
Sundry reprint material includes Jack Kirby's Challengers Of The Unknown, Frank Cho's Liberty Meadows, and Fantagraphics' showcase of Golden Age artist Mort Meskin, Out of the Shadows. As usual, here's the list of everything being released to comic stores tomorrow, and you can find your nearest comic retailer here. Happy reading, gang!
